Epic Heroes

Epic Heroes (identified by the purple portrait backgrounds) are better than their Elite (blue background) counterparts, but slightly less effective than their Legendary (gold background) counterparts. This is reflected by the effort and cost of investment needed to recruit them, as well as the effect they have on your Might, and the impact they have when leading your troops.

The Epic heroes currently available within the game are:

Hero name
Belisarius
Charles Martel
Cleopatra
Edward I
Hermann
Ivan IV
Kim Deokman
Mulan
Nobunaga
Pompey
Timur
Vlad Dracula

All heroes start off at level 1 after recruiting them, and take experience to level up. At levels 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50, you will need to spend scrolls in order to advance them further. The number of scrolls needed are:

From -> To levelScrolls needed
10 -> 115
20 -> 2110
30 -> 3140
40 -> 41110
50 -> 51

Advancing individual levels will take experience, which you can obtain by attacking Barbarians, Shrine Guards, or by using EXP Books, which you can obtain from attacking Barbarians, quests, purchasing in any of the stores, and several other methods. Experience needed to advance between levels will be shown below. The scrolls actually advance you directly to the next level, so there's no experience needed for those levels.

Heroes can have their Skill Slots upgraded when you collect sufficient of their badges, with the first level being free. Alternatively, you can convert generic Epic Hero Badges into the required badges for your hero. Every hero has a maximum of 4 * 5 Skill Slot levels, at which time your hero will be awakened, offering a bonus on their skills. The amount needed to advance from 1 level to the next are:
