A few hundred years into the future, the world is in shambles; nuclear wars wreaked havoc on the planet, and tons of mutated enemies roam around preying on the weak. People with special abilities had enough and formed bands of superheros in order to fight back.
You are the Crimson Tape, and you lead the Superhero League of Hoboken, situated in New York. Your arch nemesis Dr. Entropy is always brooding evil plans, but your assistance is also needed in other matters. You will receive a set of missions from your computer in the HQ, form a team of superheroes (in the early game, the size of the team and the heroes to pick from is limited, but as you progress, you will be able to take on more heroes, and grow the size of the team).
Fighting enemies and discovering ever more dangerous parts of the Tri-state area, you rush to remain 1 step ahead of the evil Dr. Entropy.
The game features the humor from Steve Meretzky, who was also involved with the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, PlanetFall, Leather Goddesses of Phobos, and later on the Spellcasting Series (also with https://www.gamerscreed.com/tags/legend-entertainment/).
In combat, the order of the heroeswithin your team matters, as the first few will be handling enemies in hand-to-hand combat, while the others are going to rely on shooting weapons. Additionally, they could use superpowers. For instance, "Induce Rust" works really well against robots and machinery, while "Increase Cholesterol" has best effects on humans.
As you progress, you can find or buy isotopes, which can grant additional powers to your heroes.
