Following the adventures of Roger in Space Quest 2, Roger's ship is floating through space, with him cryogenically frozen in a sleeping pod. The ship if picked up by a robot ship that salvages space junk. You will have to help Roger escape on a ship called the Aluminum Mallard (a clear wink at the Millennium Falcon), escape the deadly bounty hunter robot Arnoid, and defeat the evil software corporation ScumSoft that hold the Two Guys From Andromeda hostage.
As the previous Space Quest games, Space Quest 3 is filled with sci-fi references and humor. It also frequently breaks the 4th wall (one of the guys whipping the cubicle workers at ScumSoft looks suspiciously like Sierra President Ken Williams).
Here's a tip for the arcade game Astro Chicken. While it's not necessary to successfully land the chicken 10 times (the game will also show you the secret message if you simply crash 10 times), let's face it, it would boost your ego if you did. Your natural instinct will be to hold the key down. However, the game will see that as successive presses, and thus your chicken will not move as you want.
Instead, tap the button. Use <up> when you want the chicken to soften the landing (best is when it's about halfway down), <left> and <right> to have it move in that direction, and <down> to stop the movement. It might take you a few tries to get it right, but you will figure it out eventually. As an additional boost, whenever you successfully land the chicken, you will get an extra life.
If you cannot be bothered to decode the secret message, it can be found below:
GOG Offers Space Quest 1, 2, and 3 bundled for $9.99. On Steam, you can get the Space Quest Collection for the same price (which includes Space Quest 4, 5, and 6).

Help us! We’re being held hostage by Scumsoft on the small moon of Pestulon. An impenetrable force field surrounds the moon. It must first be deactivated. Its origin is unknown to us. Scumsoft security is armed with jelly pistols. We’re counting on you, whoever you are.
Two guys in trouble.
