The year is 1936, and you find yourself in a sleazy bar in Ohio, of all places. Your very first action in the game is determining the sex of the players' character, by heading into either the male or female bathroom. Shortly after, you find yourself kidnapped on board of a spaceship. You definitely had better days...
You obviously have no clue as to what's going on, so you start exploring. Along the way, you will be accompanied by either Trent (in case you play as a male character), or Tiffany, who just follows you along. The majority of the game will be the same, regardless of which gender you chose, but there might be some subtle differences when it comes to some of the puzzles.
Your quest for answers will see you visit obscure and uninhabitable locations like Mars, Venus, and Cleveland. As you progress, you discover that your kidnapping was intended as a final test by the Leather Goddesses of Phobos, who intend to enslave all of humanity. If they deem the test to be successful, they will make a move on planet Earth, and you're pretty much the only one who is able to stop that from happening.
The amount of inventory space you have is fairly limited, but you're usually able to drop items once you've used them for their intended purpose. Alternatively, you can store items in other items, thus reducing the amount of them in your inventory.
The game is sprinkled with humour, as it typical with games that Steve Mertezki had his fingers in (Also see The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, as well as the Spellcasting series).
