You're Robert Foster. As a child, you were raised in the city, but on a trip with your mother, your helicopter crashed. You were taken in by a group of people living in the wilderness (which they called The Gap), who raised you as their own.
The game starts when a military ship commanded by a man named Reich lands and demands the tribe to hand you over. You voluntarily go with them, but the soldiers bomb the tribe. Not willing to give Robert an explanation, they take him back to the city. However, the ship goes down for reasons unknown, leaving Robert seeking refuge in a recycling plant.
Reich soon finds Foster, and attempts to shoot him, but is killed by the computer that runs the city; LINC (Logical Inter-Neural Connection). Robert needs to find a way to escape Union City, and see if he can help the local resistance liberate its' inhabitants. He will be accompanied at times by his trusty robot Joey, whose circuit board Foster took with him.
The game interface is point-and-click, where left-clicking something will describe it, and right-clicking interacts with it. Inventory is at the top of the screen. To reach settings, ALT + F5 will bring up a menu, where you can save and restore, as well as quit back to DOS or adjust some settings.
There's a lot of humor in the game in the form of your robot, and various dialogue options. I found it to be a very enjoyable experience, all in all.
